Catholic Formation at Good Hope School

  • All students participate in all the religious activities organized for the whole student body. These include Bible services for the MIC Feast Day, Advent, Month of Rosary, receiving ashes and the Hunger Meal; and Eucharistic celebrations such as Mass of the Holy Spirit, Christmas Mass, Chinese New Year Mass, Easter Mass and Thanksgiving Mass.

  • All students pray together every morning before starting school, before lunch and every afternoon before dismissal. Prayers cover a wide range of topics of concern.

  • Catholic students from each form meet once a week during school hours. Under the guidance of a dedicated teacher they spend time discussing issues, sharing their faith, analyzing life values and praying.

  • Catholic students participate in annual retreats held outside the school campus. It is a great opportunity for them to spend some time in quiet reflection, praying and being close to God. They can also share their experiences with one another and enjoy each other’s company.

  • Catholic Rallies bring both Catholic teachers and students together as one family. Various kinds of activities promote a great sense of belonging and a spirit of mutual support in faith.

  • Catholic Camp takes place at the end of the school year. It gets all Catholic students and teachers to play and pray as a united community.

  • A monthly Mass is held on a Wednesday morning of each month from 7:30 to 8:30 at St. Joseph's Hall. The Catholic students from each form take turn to prepare the Mass by being the commentator, the First Reader, Prayer leaders for the Prayers of the Faithful, bringing the offering to the altar and singing of hymns during the Eucharistic celebration. All Catholic students and teachers attend the monthly Mass together. The presider of the Mass is Father P. Devos, CICM.
