Community Service

1. Class-based Community Services 2018-2019

  • Students prepared a fun day for the under-privileged primary students with the help of the Caritas on 13, 30 March 2019.
  • Our students had the chit-chat sessions with primary kids, exchanging ideas about their study and school life. A variety of game booths promoting positive catholic values were organised for them. They all had a very rewarding and meaningful day!

  • Talent show with the elderly and physical disable students “Stretch Our Potential - Collaboration between the Junior and Senior Generations” was held in Ping Shek Estate on 23 February 2019.
  • Students met their target groups as early as in November 2018 and they prepared for the show for a few months.
  • More than 250 members, including students, teaching and non-teaching staff from our school as well as delegates from the five non-government organisations, were engaged on that day.

  • Students in a group of 10, drafted lesson plans and prepared a 60-minute English lesson for the primary students in Shunde, China in January 2019.
  • Students worked to organise English learning activities for the primary 5-6 students in Shunde. They were amazed by the fact that the English standard of the Chinese students was proliferating.

  • Students were given an opportunity to observe the Environmental Sustainability System of Taiwan during the form study tour from 16 to 19 January 2019.
  • Board Exhibition was then held in St. Joseph Hall to promote the message of environmental conservation for the whole school in April 2019. Students’ learning experience was shared among the schoolmates.

  • Students planned and organized a range of community service which emphasizes on the importance of environmental protection for the elderly.
  • They all learnt from each other’s perspectives and shared insightful ideas across generations.

2. Social Career Apps

To provide more opportunities for students to join community services, all students are required to register to an online community service platform, Social Career.
Social Career is an online platform enabling students to take the initiatives to participate in different types of community service in Hong Kong.
